How JOYO work?
The main module of JOYO console may be define as:
Light: There are 8 top lights and 4 bottom post lights in JOYO, all of them can be controlled individually.
Sound: There are lots of built-in sound effects that can be called up individually.
Smart Recognition: This is the main interaction between the JOYO console and the tabletop map or tokens. The bottom of JOYO recognizes tiny code on the map or tokens, with different code corresponding to different ID values. The code information is recognized and processed by the JOYO console's program to complete the series of game logic.
TIP
The Designer Kit comes with built-in numbers, letters, blank cards, and transparent stickers that have been printed with smart codes. You can use the cards directly, or attach transparent stickers to your own handmade drawings or printed paper, in combination with the creation tools and JOYO console.
Game Design Flow
Here's how to design your own board game using the package.
Ideas
First of all, you can just make some brainstorm, be imaginative, design the game rules, game stories, and more.
Prototype
When you get a good game idea, you need to make a cardboard prototype for your board game. This prototype does not require exquisite art design, even if the various props are very rough, it doesn't matter, for we care more about whether the game is funny enough in this time. The designer kit
includes a series of cards with smart code and transparent stickers for prototype, like attaching transparent stickers to homemade maps.
Programming work
Our existing design tool is based on google's Blockly
, which allows for drag-and-drop programming in a similar way to Scratch. Users don't need to know much about programming themselves, but can get started with step-by-step programming through examples and experimentation.
More content and tutorials about Blockly can be found here.
We are also developing a javascript-based interface and editor, which will be openly supported on subsequent tools.
Submit And Share Your Game
Once you have finished your work on the design tool, you can share the games with your friends and family by running it online. If you love your board game and want to upgrade it, to let more people know about your game, you can contact our team to submit it. It will probably become the next release game of JOYO console and be loved by more players!
